The San Siro Museum: trophies, shirts and two clubs under one roof

Museum
In short: the San Siro Museum is the only museum in Italy inside a working stadium, and it is shared by AC Milan and Inter. You will find match-worn shirts, the clubs’ trophies, derby memorabilia and the “Italia 110 & Lode” exhibition on the Italian national team. It is the first half of almost every stadium tour, and entry is included in the ticket from about $44. The separate Casa Milan museum is AC Milan’s own, from about $18.

What is in the San Siro Museum

Set in a dedicated wing of the stadium, the museum tells the story of both Milanese giants side by side — a rare thing, given the rivalry. Cases hold shirts worn by some of the greatest players to pull on the red-and-black or the blue-and-black, alongside the cups, balls and photos that mark their biggest wins. The tour usually ends with “Italia 110 & Lode”, an exhibition dedicated to 110-plus years of the Italian national team. It is compact but dense — reckon on 20–30 minutes before the stadium walk.

San Siro Museum or Casa Milan?

They are two different places. The San Siro Museum is inside the stadium and covers both clubs; it comes bundled with the stadium tour. Casa Milan is AC Milan’s headquarters across town, home to the Mondo Milan museum — 125 years of the Rossoneri, the Hall of Fame and the trophy room — and it is a cheaper, club-specific ticket from around $18. If you support Milan and want depth, do both; if you just want the stadium, the in-stadium museum is enough.

Insider tip

Photography is allowed, so give yourself a few minutes in the trophy room — it is the best backdrop in the building. If the museum matters most to you, a self-paced ticket lets you linger rather than move with a group.

Frequently asked questions

Is the San Siro Museum worth visiting?

Yes, especially as it is included with the stadium tour. It is the only museum in Italy inside a stadium and covers both AC Milan and Inter, with match-worn shirts and the clubs’ trophies.

Is the museum included in the San Siro tour?

Yes. Almost every San Siro ticket starts in the museum and then continues into the stadium, all in one price from about $44.

What is the difference between the San Siro Museum and Casa Milan?

The San Siro Museum is inside the stadium and covers both clubs; Casa Milan is AC Milan’s own museum elsewhere in Milan, with a cheaper club-specific ticket from about $18.

Can you visit the San Siro Museum without the stadium tour?

In practice the museum and stadium are sold together as one ticket, so you see both. If you only want AC Milan history, the standalone Casa Milan museum is the alternative.
